Narda STS (Italy) endorsed as Notified Body

Notified Bodies are nationally accredited bodies that examine the conformity evaluation of the production process completed on behalf of the manufacturers and whose correctness is certified according to standard assessment factors. Manufacturers can refer to a notified body of their choice which has been named because of the relevant procedure and the product category concerned.
Conformity evaluation can be inspection, quality assurance, type examination or design examination, or a combination of these. NARDA STS (Italy) is a Notified Body NB 2050 for the EMC European Directive.

Since 1980, the formerly named “PMM”  is the Italian leader for design, manufacture and market of measuring equipments in the Radio Frequency field in general, with particular evidence in the EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) applications. Company’s leading position was suddenly achieved thanks to an unsurpassed vocation to metrology realized since the early days in a complete set of test facilities, including an Open Area Test Site and a fully anechoic chamber, perfectly equipped to perform stae-of-the art EMC and RF test and calibration.

In 1981 PMM was accredited as Calibration Center, SIT number 08/E under official Italian calibration scheme, for RF power, electric field, frequency and voltages.

In 1985 PMM has been inserted in the authorized Laboratory list by the Italian Ministry for Scientific and Technologic Research (LIGURIA - II list N. 159); based on rules stated on italian law # 46/1982, to put into practice and coordinate the initiatives in support of scientific and technologic research.

Since 1991 PMM is involved in standardization activities, being present in international and Italian National Committees.

In 1992 PMM started marketing and distribution in Italy of leading manufacturers of EMC instruments and systems; at the same time, PMM gained international market for its own products.

In December 1995 PMM was qualified as Accredited Laboratory for tests on Radio Transmitters and Radio Equipment by Italian Ministry of Communications, with certificate N° 030.

In January 1996 PMM became Competent Body in EMC as per EEC directive 89/336, qualified by Italian Ministry of Communications.

Since October 1998 the Quality System of PMM has been certified by DNV - Det Norske Veritas to conform to the standard UNI EN ISO 9001 for design, manufacture and trade of electronic test equipment, test and radioelectric calibrations, with Certificate # CERT-03564-98-AQ-GEN-SINCERT.

In the year 2002 according to EN 17025 normative the accreditation as SIT Calibration Center was extended to the Electromagnetic Field Strength Standard.

In 2003 the Quality Management System has been improved to conform to the ISO 9001:2000 standard.

From January 1^st , 2007, the company is re-branded as Narda Safety Test Solutions S.r.l. (Italy), while the original brand PMM remains in use for all of the EMC instruments.

In the year 2007 Narda STS S.r.l. (Italy) is qualified as "Notified Body" for EMC.

In october 2009 the Quality Management System has been improved to conform to the ISO 9001:2008 standard.
